Never Forget - Picture Book
Never Forget, illustrated by Simon O'Carrigan & written by Clare Hallifax, tells a fictional story 'through the eyes' of artwork made by Australian soldiers and artists during The Great War. Made with careful research and the blessings of descendants and museum collections, this book is a new way to re-tell an important story.
Inspired by the extraordinary works of Australian artists painting the First World War as it happened around them, this evocative book commemorates and explores the sacrifice of the soldiers, signallers and nurses who served and the families at home waiting for their return.
Illustrator Simon O’Carrigan has worked with the curators and collections of art museums, state and national libraries, and the Australian War Memorial, to curate, collate and recreate the original art to produce heartbreaking illustrations in this one-of-a-kind war book.
First published by Omnibus Scholastic Australia in 2020. Ages 4+.
